The Artwork / Design
Leaf Archers – The Smaller of the two Upper Council tribes of the Dakota, the Wahpekute (Dakota translation “Leaf Archers”, “Shooters through the Trees”) we known to be more nomadic than their Mdewakanton brothers, but also resided is the Minnetonka area. Having developed a bit of a lawless reputation, a faction of the Wahpekute were the perpetrators of the Spirit Lake Massacre after having been pushed west out of their lands.
